I’ve recommended this sight as a place to begin. I did not come up with a lot of choices for zippers. It’s sad because the Talon zipper was made 15 miles from my house. I’m not sure if they make them in the US any more or not. Their website is not forthcoming. Though they reference locations in ohio and a few other states.. The plant in Meadville is closed down.

Invicta has a line of watches “Made in USA”. However, their link to that line of watches was not working when I last checked it 3/19/11. Invicta Made in USA collection

There are futher frustrations to researching these items. We’ve discovered that at least some fasteners are made in the USA. Which is a good thing. However, more common than not is that the products are made for large purchasers and are not available to the consumer for general home use. Having said that, the following information is an accumulation of several research projects that we have done for various types of fasteners.

Here are some sites to review. Looks like Sunbeam is the leader in this area. It appears that the blankets are made in US but the controllers are imported. I would guess that is the same for any electric blanket that you would buy.

There is another brand called Frontgate. It’s advertised in several places as “Made in USA” but it wasn’t obvious on the Frontgate web page. So check labels. It’s also likely that the Frontgate blankets are really sunbeam with a different labeling on them. It’s not uncommon.”
