Golfers have been asking “What about golf equipment? Is there anything Made in USA anymore?”
Here is a start on the research I’ve been doing. Please feel free to add other products that you find or request additional research.

“Our iron heads and putters are still poured and cast at our own foundry here
in Phoenix. Depending on the type of shaft, some of those are still
manufactured in the USA as well. Although some of our components are made
over seas, all of our assembly is done right here at our plant. As far as I
know, the last titanium foundry in the USA that was capable of filling our
orders was Ruger. We initially used Ruger to produce our first titanium
driver heads but the return rate to meet our standards was somewhere near
98%, meaning we only could use about 2% of what was made for us.”

I’ve been unable to find these products Made in the USA. You can find them made in Canada though. This site sells the made in canada product Paricon Sleds. They also sell other winter sleds. I’m told the tube, foam, and runner sleds are manufactured over seas, but the plastic products are from US and Canada.

P.S I stopped at Bass Pro Shop, both US reel and Penn reels are made in China.

Craig says…I am looking to buy my little girls first bicycle and it will NOT be made in China. I have been looking for three weeks for a USA made children’s bike with no success. If it is found that all USA manufacturers prefer to keep foreign workers employed rather than Americans, I will settle for German, Italian, French made, anything except China. Looking for help, thanks.

As a result of requests for children’s bicycles which do not appear to be made in USA, I have found that there are a number of high end bicycle manufactures in the USA.

This site demonstrates that the Bicycle industry uses a 60% rule which does not meet FTC regulations. That does not mean that the bicycles are mis-labeled only that you need to be informed and know what questions to ask when you are buying.

Trek Information
Some sites are saying only the frame is made in US. Which would mean a “made in usa with imported parts”. The FTC gets sticky here, but generally if the largest expense of the item occurs in the US, then by law it is Made in the USA. This site invites you to see a factory tour. NOTE**** Some websites are stating that Trek makes a childs bike. They do not….. Here is their response to my inquiry on 12/21/09.
“Currently, all of our children’s bikes are produced overseas. I don’t know of any company that produces their kid’s bikes in the US except for some high-end, low-volume BMX race bike companies.”

Fireplace Insert
This company is in canada but I think they have a division in US. I’ve seen Napoleon advertised as Made in USA. Maybe just a certain line is made in US. Napoleon Fireplaces I emailed them for clarification, but did not get a response. Appalacian is made in NC.
