Mickey is looking for novelty costumes made in USA for a new online company. Just last week I stumbled upon a manufacturer. I had ripped a tag of a bow that I had just purchased because ofcourse it had the “Made in USA” label on it. So I checked it out. Sure enough it’s the worlds largest manufacturer of ribbons, bows, and wrapping paper. One of their for brand names is Paper Magic. What a surprise to find out they also manufacture costumes! I’ll do more digging to see if there are others, but I have searched costumes before and never found anything definitive. I’ll search again for you Mickey…
Charlie is looking for a Bugle “Made in USA”. This has prompted a search for Brass Wind Instruments.
Getzen Co is in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. They make Trumpets, Cornetes, Fluegelhorns, Trombones Getzen
They do make bugles… here is their response to finding the bugle on their site. “Yes, we actually do sell a bugle, it is called our American Heritage Field Trumpet. We have two models. Go to our website, hit specialty brass and then field trumpets, you’ll get the information. These field trumpets were made in conjunction with the Bugles Across America specifically made for playing taps and military pieces.”
This article on various manufacturers in the USA after 1900 was very “instrumental” in my search.Middlehornleader
Frank Holton & Company is the oldest operating wind instrument company in the USA. However, I can not find a website for the company. It is in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
H.N. White is also a possibility. I believe they take special orders for Bugles.

I am an artist and crafter wishing to find plain switch plates that I can decorate for resale. I very much do not wish to buy China-made products. At the same time I would prefer to buy American-made.
I am looking for various types of switchplates, single toggle, double- and multi-toggle, single rocker switch, double-and multi-switch, etc. I have been fruitlessly searching the internet for this. I would be very grateful for any help you could provide. Thank you – Donna

So far I’m seeing what appears to be speciality type plates that are more than likely made in the USA. You can start with this site. The site says most of their products are made in Pittsburgh PA. http://www.diamondlifegear.com/wallplatecovers.html
Here is another site that looks more like what you need. Arnev
One last thing….Because I haven’t verified directly with the manufacturer, ASK QUESTIONS before you buy! Though their site seems to imply all their products are made in USA, there may be some catch. It’s always better to verify and ask very specific questions. Semantics are tricky in this business!
I am sure I forgot to mention, there are sail boats made in USA too!
