A few weeks ago I asked about chair pads. Both Sears and Target carry chair pads made in USA, but of fabric and stuffing from China. Might as well be made in China!. I did find some on Sturbridge Yankee Workshop, I was told they are made from all USA products. I ordered some. We will see when they get here!

Several businesses have inquired as to how to list their “Made in USA” products. List products This link will take you to the page where you can get a spreadsheet. After completing the spreadsheet and returning it to us we add it to our database and upload it to the www.madebyyankees.net database. We ask only a small fee which goes directly to advertising to support the site and support the businesses who have listed their products in our database.

I’d like to address some of Rea’s concerns. Admittedly, we do have a lot of “text” on our sites about searching. There are several reasons for this. One reason is that our demographics include veterans. We firmly believe that veterans are extremely patriotic and would find this resource useful. Right or wrong I’ve associated veterans as a group of people slightly disadvantaged as they have not had regular access to computers as have all the X’s and Y’s. There for we do provide additional information to help them navigate.
Second, our site is rather unique with respect to searching. We have a database for which confirmed made in usa consumer products are listed. We have a blog where searches are necessary to find information where products do not fit firmly into the 100% made in usa category. And last we have two search functions that to my knowledge no other website has. Those are consolidated google searches. The allow visitors to search MANY e-tail websites for a product at one time.
We feel that more information is better than less. For those who are experienced with searches feel free to ignore the information. On the other hand perhaps we could consider a “Beginner” page.
With regard to not finding underpants. The database is growing and it increases as we research products. The priority of product research is directly related to requests that we get from this blog. If Rea is looking for underpants, then the research for underpants will commence!

Arthur was perusing our site and suggested that we post Audio Equipment. At this time I have no Audio Equipment listed in the database. This is mostly because I hadn’t had a request to research this particular type of equipment. Generally, that’s how it works, as I research I either post to the blog or I input the information into the database. Believe it or not there are SO many items made in the USA, I can’t get them all posted to the database. Anyway,
