San Diego Most Patriotic City in the US

Filed under: Uncategorized — Yankee @ 11:35 am

San Diego has been identified as the most patriotic city in the US, with San Antonio and Norfolk trailing close behind. MadeByYankees has defined a patriotic community as one with a large number of veterans, military posts and manufacturing jobs. The 2000 US Census reported, the civilian veteran population of San Diego was 118,923, armed forces supported 36,384 citizens, and 59,129 manufacturing jobs were available. Comparatively, San Antonio statistics demonstrated a civilian veteran population of 116,862, 252,565 jobs in the armed forces and 9,698 manufacturing jobs.

MadeByYankees claims that being patriotic is more than identifying a person or community within a specific job category. It also includes a particular demographic of households, which include the presence of children in the home, household income, and age. The San Diego community fits the defined demographic.

Lastly and perhaps most importantly, the compassion to spend earnings on domestically made products must be considered. Though San Diego’s demographic tightly fits with statistics claiming the most like people to buy “Made in USA” products, MadeByYankees.net cannot conclusively state that San Diego residents are the most patriotic with their fiscal decisions. Based on the definitions, statistics, and demographics, MadeByYankees believes it is a safe bet that San Diegans are the most conscientious with respect to checking labels and purchasing “Made in USA” products.
